Helsinki, long the metropolitan heart of Finland, bears its rich architectural and cultural legacy on this 3 hour sightseeing tour. The first part of the journey is the neighborhood of Eira. Considered one of the city’s most luxurious neighborhoods, it features rows of colorful residences built in the Jugend style, Scandinavia’s version of Art Nouveau. At the city’s main harbor, visit Market Square, a bustling gathering of both locals and travelers focused on various open-air shops. Next, visit Olympic Stadium, where the 1952 Helsinki games were held. The Olympic Tower is an example of functionalist architecture, and designed to be as tall as the world javelin throw record, held at the time by Finland. The tour concludes at the Finnish Parliament building.

Full Day Ainola & Porvoo

Explore the heritage and culture of Finland in the countryside around Helsinki on this 8 hour day trip. Head north from the capital to the sleepy hamlet of Jarvenpaa, a lakeside refuge of serene, natural beauty. Here you will find Ainola, the modest estate of Jean Sibelius. Regarded as Finland’s national composer, Sibelius was a contributor to the Romantic movement in music, and helped foster the emergence of Finnish identity through his works. The second part of the tour visits the city of Porvoo. Home to several notable events in Finnish history, the town is known for its charming old town, with red ochre storage houses lining the riverside. End the trip with the Porvoo Cathedral before returning to Helsinki.
