Half Day City

Explore one of the most scenic and uniquely spectacular palaces Europe has to offer on this 4 hour tour of the Alhambra of Granada. Crowning a hilltop above the city, the complex began as a medieval Moorish fortress before evolving into the splendid palace of the Muslim kings and later the Catholic monarchs of united Spain. Entering through the Justice Gate, The Palace of Charles V dominates the central area. An immense rectangular facade in Renaissance style adorns the outside, while a majestic circular portico encircles the inner courtyard. Adjacent to the Renaissance structure is the sprawling Moorish Nasrid Palace. Its halls, gardens, and courtyards are decorated with a hypnotic array of geometric and floral designs, taken from 5 centuries of Spanish Muslim tradition. Opposite the Alhambra on a facing hillside is the Generalife, a palace dedicated to gardens, fountains, and panoramic vistas.

Full Day City

Although Granada’s reputation and identity are justifiably founded on the Alhambra, the city holds many other noteworthy, if less publicized, treasures. With this 8 hour journey, experience both the celebrated Alhambra and Granada as a whole. Begin with the Carthusian Monastery, known locally as the Cartuja. Deceptively unadorned from the outside, the interior explodes with Baroque flourish. More Baroque architecture can be found at the Granada Cathedral, which also houses the Royal Chapel, resting place of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Near the Cathedral memories of Muslim Granada live on in the Alcaiceria, the historic silk market. Finish the tour with the Alhambra itself.
